Built by a trainer

Why I built TrainStead

I'm Sam, the founder of TrainStead. Before I wrote a single line of this software, I spent over 10 years as a personal trainer and coach.

The problem I kept running into

For most of those years, I was fighting my own software. Nearly every tool I tried was built to bill clients, not to actually run the work. The pricing punished me for growing: sign more clients, move up a tier, pay more, as if success should cost extra. And the things that mattered most to a studio, client retention, the business side, keeping people accountable between sessions, were either bolted on as expensive add-ons or missing entirely.

I wanted one tool that worked the way trainers and studios actually operate. I couldn't find it, so I built it.

What TrainStead is

TrainStead is the software I wish I'd had. It handles the day to day, scheduling, programming, and messaging, and it ties together the accountability that keeps clients on track between sessions: home workouts, nutrition, and cardio logging, toggled on or off for each client.

It also gives owners the analytics they actually need to make decisions: retention, revenue attribution, churn risk, and capacity. So you can catch a client slipping before they cancel, and run your studio on data instead of hunches.

What I believe

A studio should never be taxed for growing. That is why TrainStead is priced per trainer with unlimited clients on every plan. Add your 30th client or your 300th, your price does not move.

And when you have a question, you will talk to me, the founder, not a call center. I am building this alongside the studios using it, and your feedback genuinely shapes what gets built next.
